Ben Waldman competed in Lincoln-Douglas debate for Walt Whitman High School for five years, qualifying to the Tournament of Champions as a sophomore, junior, and senior. During his career, Ben acquired ten career bids and reached semifinals at Valley, Lexington, Harvard and Bronx. Ben’s debate interests include normative philosophy, postmodern philosophy, creative impact turns and theory. He is also experienced in tricks debate. Ben now attends the University of Chicago, where he is majoring in computer science. Ben has worked as an instructor at both the National Symposium for Debate and Victory Briefs Institute. In addition, he spent a year as a debate coach for Scarsdale High School.
