Michael Kurian competed in Lincoln-Douglas debate at Dulles High School in Houston, TX. He earned five career bids, reaching elimination rounds at Harvard, St. Marks, Strake Jesuit, Colleyville, the University of Houston, the University of Texas, Valley and others. He qualified to the TOC twice, getting to the bubble round as a junior. He was an instructor at NSD and has coached students to finals of the Texas State Tournament, out-rounds of the TOC, and bid rounds at the University of Houston, Yale, Bronx, Isadore Newman, Greenhill and Grapevine tournaments. He is a sophomore studying Philosophy & Anthropology at the University of Houston and his debate interests are ethical frameworks & critical theory.
